As we slowly become more conscious of how we’re messing up the Earth (see: Antarctica Iceberg), it appears that some of us are making the transformation from a trendy tote grocery carrier (yeah I’m talking to all you owners and fake-ass-still-don’t-recycle users of the Anya Hindmarch “I’m Not a Plastic Bag” tote) to all around advocates. So without further ado I’d like to recommend participating in Lights Out America, a sector of Earth Hour which aims inspire common folk like us to take action against the ever changing climate (see: GLOBAL WARMING). Mark March 29th (aka this Saturday) from 8-9PM on your calendars as the national date to turn off all non-essential lighting in your homes. To amplify the event even further and assist in promoting long-lasting energy saving, why not change over one of those old school bulbs to compact fluorescent light bulbs….plus the color of fluorescent lighting is more aesthetically pleasing…..well at least to me.
