We met Elizabeth Landers DAY1 in Denver. She’s 17 – and worked it to get Press Credentials for this year’s Convention. In terms of youth reppin’ for their states, there are more young delegates this year than ever before (we’ve been hanging with Ben Arnon, a delegate from California who works for Yahoo! by day and spends the rest of his time as a community organizer for Obama – just makes me tired thinking about how much he stunts!).  Even the social scene in Denver is overrun with young, emerging organizations like DL21C from New York (Democratic Leadership for the 21st Century), Do Something (one of my favorite activating organizations!), and Hill Harper’s foundation Manifest your Destiny

I think I drank a little too much of the Obama Optimism Kool-aid – because when I think about the power of young people to make a difference in the world – I’m not sure there’s any sector to build new leaders quite like the political one…MS
