Things You Need to Check Out Before I Freak Out — By Michael French
Some ish you need to be aware of:
According to Kottke.org, “the class of 2012 is super wired.” The kiddies have iPhones, laptops…all that jazz. Here’s to a very connected, promising future.
PSFK posted Claudia Cukrov’s “Youth’s 10 Don’ts for Digital Branding” the other day. Decent read, contains Ruby Pseudo’s “Teen Commandments”, based on her extensive research into the world of ‘dem shitheeled teenagers. This is pretty no-brainer stuff, but you’d be surprised how many companies try to be “friends” with kids via Myspace and Facebook? “Hey, need a wing man for the dance dude? Mountain Dew can help.” I think the gyst is online branding that targets teens can’t be intrusive, it needs to live on the main page and pop-ups piss people off. I’d say that’s the gyst for online branding in general. Take note of these.
Treehugger interviewed two of this year’s Brower Youth Awards winners. Click here to check that ish out.
We Heart Stuff has a rad interview with a handful of judges from the Creative 30 competition put on by VICE, Volvo, The Independent and Yahoo! The gyst is this competition celebrates 30 of Britain’s “most promising young creative people.” Y’all can go on the interweb and vote from starting October 20th through November 16th. I don’t know who these kids are either, but look for the prettiest pictures and say “okay.”
Last but absolutely not least, I just stumbled along the Muppet Wiki. Here I thought I was actually going to get work done today. Fooey. Cotterpin Doozer, here I come.
