Back in the Saddle — By Michael French

BROWSE —

Alright alright…so yeah, you’ve probably noticed the lack of posts. I was out of town for a bit, MS was out of town for a bit, MR has been hitting the streets in search of himself, Cuban sandwiches and Ms. Wrong…it’s been a bit nutty around the IWRI shop.

Nothing chaps my ass quite like seniority and/or in-crowd hires at work. Experience can be a good thing, so can knowing somebody who knows somebody who can get somebody they know to give you money every two weeks. That’s rad shit. I’m down with it. But most people who’s jobs are secure because of their previous history tend to be lazy and idiotic when it comes to learning something outside of their normal skillset, and the in-crowds, well, they’re just dicks because they can afford to be.

If the financial crisis/economic meltdown/last 8 years of government should teach us anything, it’s that we should always hire the most qualified, intelligent and spry people to do the most important jobs. We should hire them to do the least important jobs too, and reserve the toilet cleaning duties for useless fucktards.

I’m freaking out this a.m. because the dude who’s in charge of digital media for my company doesn’t really know anything about digital media, and he basically dictates what I do and is making my life a steaming hellpit full of snakes and goblins. He knows somebody who knows somebody. So now he knows me and is pissing on my good time and interoffice serenity. Le sigh…

Big projects in the works…stay tuned. Love ya.
